Sewing Circle is a relaxed, tutor-led sewing group for all skill levels, with beginner guidance and access to studio equipment included.

Beginners

You’ll learn:
- How to use a sewing machine

You’ll progress at your own pace with access to fabrics, threads and studio equipment included.
Suitable for ages 12+. Under 18s must attend with an adult. Weekly or bulk bookings available.
Friday Friends
Friday Friends Sewing Group is supervised by volunteers but the reduced rate reflects the fact that there will be no tutor available.
We’re currently trialling this to see how it goes – and will add more sessions if the demand is high.
It’s like a top up or an extra for those who want to continue with their projects they have started. Only suitable for those confident enough to use a machine.
Crafting Corner
Under the watchful eye of our experienced tutor and amazing textile artist you can relax and learn new techniques or receive guidance and support on existing projects e.g.; embroidery, beadwork, ribbon art, appliqué, crochet, patchwork, quilting etc.
Further information:
- Small intimate class to ensure you get the help you need.
- Feel free to bring a packed lunch, we supply hot drinks (including tea and coffee plus herbal drinks) chilled water and biscuits.
- We can also supply embroidery needles, threads and fabrics
1:1 Tuition

Receive personalised, one-to-one support tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re a complete beginner building confidence or an experienced sewist tackling a challenging project. These private sessions provide dedicated time with an expert tutor to help with everything from mastering sewing machine basics to pattern drafting, garment fitting and troubleshooting specific sewing problems.
Overlocker Tuition
Discover the confidence to use an overlocker and unlock its full potential in this hands-on workshop. You’ll learn the basics of the Janome 6234XL, explore its key functions, and practise techniques such as finishing seam allowances, working with one and two needles, and creating professional rolled hems for a polished finish.

Sewing Machine Engineer
Our Sewing Machine man visits on a Wednesday, whenever we have a tired, grumpy visitor – so get in touch and arrange to bring your machine in to us if it’s playing up! John covers the whole of Hampshire and is a certified engineer for Janome, Brother and Bernina and experienced/trained to service all major brands. He also has loads of spare parts and knows someone who can service industrial sewing machines. NB Drop off needs to be before the Wednesday and machines are returned the following Wednesday.
